Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Press Brake Area - As an alternative to guarding, the employer had not developed and implement a press brake operator safe distance program. On or about 07/06/10. NOTE: One feasible abatement method would be to develop and implement a safe distance program that complies with the requirements of ANSI B11.3-1982 and OSHA Directive CPL 2-1.25. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
