General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc., 5000 FM 1912, Amarillo, Texas 7910. For the period of time up to and including January 26, 2011, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from boxes of frozen meat falling from overhead conveyors through netting to the floor below. This condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards. One feasible and acceptable method would be to use sturdier barrier. Note: Abatement certification and supporting documentation are required for this item.
