Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a plce of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:08/31/10 Location:Warehouse Condition:An employee was operating a forklift without wearing a seat belt. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to enforce the wearing of seat belts by forklift operators to comply with ANSI B56.1 consensus standard for powered industrial trucks. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
