Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards while using a Red Dragon Torch - Model # VT 2 1/2 - 24 CE connected to an LP tank to heat a barge component and the torch was left unattended. Among other feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard is to follow the requirements in the Flame Engineering Inc., manufacturer of Red Dragon Torches operators manual. a) Follow safety check list and daily equipment check list b) Do not leave the torch unattended while in operation. ***Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)***
