North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall from elevation while working in an aerial lift: a)job site - one employee working in a JLG 600A aerial lift installing a metal roof was not using a personal fall arrest system or lanyard. ABATEMENT NOTE: 1)Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to require employees to wear fall protection devices such as a body harness and lanyard as required in the owners manual of the JLG Boom Lift Model 600A.
