Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer does not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: This violation was observed on or about April 13, 2011 at the facility, an employee, attempting to install insulation on the roof during strong winds, was exposed to the hazards of falls while standing on the midrails of the Genie GS-2032 scissor. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to comply with the manufacturer's instructions for safe use of the the Model GS-2032 Genie scissor lift.
