furnish employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to
cause death or serious
harm to employees:
(a)Date of Violation:10/05/10
Condition:Employees were exposed to being struck by/crushed by or run over
by a
trash truck who's operator did not make sure of location of co-workers
before operating the vehicle in reverse.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to make sure the locations of all co-workers are known before operating
the trash truck in
reverse as per Section 6.2.3.2(h) of the American National Standard, ANZI
Z 245.1 1992,
Safety Requirements for Refuse Collecting and Compacting Equipment.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training
certification,
etc.) is required for this item.
