Loading Dock:
On or about July 8, 2011, the employer did not ensure that the operator of
a Nissan 40 Forklift
was using the seat belt of the forklift. The employee and the forklift
fell over the edge of the
loading dock and the employee received arm and back injuries.
Methods of abatement include:
1) Train operators of forklifts to wear seatbelts.
2) Conduct periodic inspections to ensure that operators of forklifts are
wearing seat belts.
3) Institute a disciplinary program for violations of seatbelt rules.
