Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 03/01/11 Location:Chlorine Building at WWTP #2 Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used a corrosive chemical, liquid chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. (b)Date of Violation:On or About 03/01/11 Location:Chesapeake Heights Tower WPS Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used a corrosive chemical, liquid chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. (c)Date of Violation:On or About 03/01/11 Location:Dares Beach WPS Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used a corrosive chemical, liquid chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. (d)Date of Violation:On or About 03/01/11 Location:Prince Frederick WPS #1 Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used a corrosive chemical, liquid chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. (e)Date of Violation:On or About 03/01/11 Location:Mason Road WPS Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used a corrosive chemical, liquid chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to provide emergency eyewash stations that provide a minimal of 15 minutes of flush time which complies with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Euipment." Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
