Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. a. On or about 12/08/2010. 1403 Circle Dr. Tarpon Spring, FL 34689 - Employees off- loading large palm trees from a flat bet were exposed to struck by hazards created by moving traffic vehicles and a Caterpillar 252B Series 3 Skid Steer Loader used to lift the palm trees. Among other methods, two feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard are: 1)Use of high visibility apparel. 2) Use of vehicular traffic warning devices such as traffic cones and signs.
