Condition:Employees who were exposed to Hydrochloric Acid were provided a
plumbed eyewash station without the water flow being properly regulated
to allow for simultaneous flushing of both eyes.
Among other methods of abatement, one feasible method of abatement is to
repair the eyewash
station to meet the correct flow pattern in accordance with the American
National Standards
Institute (ANSI) Z358.1-2009, Standard for Emergency Eyewashes and Shower
Equipment.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
