Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Heath Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazards associated with hydrogen sulfide (H2S): Universal Oil Well Service Company, 5212 S. Service Rd. I-20, Big Spring, Texas 79720. For the period of time up to and including September 14, 2011, employees were exposed to inhalation hazards from not receiving adequate training in recognizing the hazards of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) while transporting fluids (brine, fresh and produced) from well sites. Feasible and Acceptable Abatement Methods would include: 1. Ensure that all employees are adequately trained in recognizing and being aware of the hazards associated with Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). 2. Ensure that employees are adequately trained in the proper wearing of Hydrogen Sulfide monitor.
