North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to dust deflagration hazards due to having dust collection equipment (cyclone) in the employee's work area: a)bagging room, the dust collecting cyclone was located inside the building adjacent to the bagging machines. ABATEMENT NOTE:One feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is for the employer to follow procedures of NFPA 664, Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Explosions in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities, section 8.2.2.5.1.4 (1).
