Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to an employee in that employees were exposed to hazardous conditions when the employee was exposed to fall hazards: a) Work production area at Integrated Laminate Systems in Cinnaminson NJ : An employee was exposed to a fall hazard in excess of four feet to the ground surface below when working from a Vestil Manufacturing Corporation Work Platform model WP-3737FD without the use of fall protection, on or about 2/17/11. One feasible and useful method of abatement would be to provide a means of fall protection for the employee, such as wearing a harness and lanyard and tying off to an anchor point. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
