Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: A. On or about 1/20/2011, at 10255 Heritage Bay Boulevard, in the city of Naples, in the state of Florida, an employee who was operating a Golf Cart (Club Car), in a maintenance facility parking lot, struck a stationary semi-trailer with the Golf Cart. B. On or about 1/20/2011, at 10255 Heritage Bay Boulevard, in the city of Naples, in the state of Florida, employees were operating Golf Carts (Club Cars), in the maintenance facility parking lot, and were exposed to striking the Golf Carts against stationary objects, such as but not limited to, a semi-tailer. Among other methods, one feasible abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to instruct employees on the operation of the Golf Carts, in accordance with the manufactures operating manual. NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
