Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 05/10/2011, at 7007 SW 13th Terrace in the city of Miami, an employee was operating a forklift to lift an employee on a pallet to move transmission parts from a rack at approximately 9 feet to the ground. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to follow the forklift operator's manual an "Use only specialized equipment designed to safely raise personnel to high work areas. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
