On or about 08/16/2011, at 9409 NW 109th St., Medley, FL, employees are
exposed to the
hazard of being struck and run over by cement mixer trucks, and other
motor vehicles with
limited visibility when reversing into the facility.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
this hazard are:
1. Establish a policy that restricts personnel from walking or standing in
the path of vehicular
traffic.
2. Establish a designated walking path for employees away from vehicular
traffic; Implement
a spotter system when drivers are required to back-up their vehicles to
enhace the visibility of
the operator.
3. Implement a standard operating procedure that will incorporate a
spotter when cement mixer
trucks are backing up.
