Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a
place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to
cause death or serious
physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck- or
crushed-by hazard by
vehicles being service on hydraulic lifts:
On or about 01/06/2012, at 17120 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL, employees
were operating
hydraulic car lifts with defects:
A.) Rotary Lift #2 - broken cable line to safety latches
B.) Rotary Lift #4 - broken cable line to safety latches
C.) Rotary Lift #6 - broken cable line to safety latches
Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to
correct the hazard
is to follow the Rotary Lift's guide manual, implement a maintenance
schedule,
conduct daily,
weekly, and monthly checks of the lifts, and required maintenance of lifts
per manufacturer
recommendations.

VIOLATION.
