Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/17/11 Location:Maintenance Shop Condition:Employees used 1 inch PVC pipe to convey compressed air set at approximately 130 p.s.i. Among other methods, one feasible and accepted method to abate this hazard is to install pipes constructed of or be encased in shatter resistant materials in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard D1785-86 Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
