Health Act of North Carolina:  The
employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment
and a place of employment free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to fall hazards:
a)curing department - where employees were required to clean ventilation
holes while standing on
a "platter" inside of a KRUPP press machine located 52 inches above the
concrete floor.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is to require
employees to use a fall protection system such as, but not limited to,
guard rails or personal fall arrest
system) while cleaning the vents on the KRUPP press machines.
Or in the alternative:
29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1):  Open sided floor(s) or platform(s) 4 feet or more
above the adjacent floor or ground
level were not guarded by standard railings (or the equivalent as
specified in 29 CFR 1910.23(e)(3)(i) through
(v)), on all open sides:
a)curing department - where employees were required to clean ventilation
holes while standing on
a "platter" inside of a KRUPP press machine located 52 inches above the
concrete floor.te
