North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North Carolina:  The
employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment
and a place of employment free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to hazards associated with working in a hot
environment:
a)job site - on or about August 8 and 9, 2011, an employee exhibited
symptoms of heat
exhaustion;  the foreman and other employees did not recognize these
symptoms and did not
take adequate first aid measures to ensure the employee received
appropriate treatment.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct
this hazard would be training with
emphasis on the signs and symptoms of heat related illnesses and the
specific steps to take when an employee
exhibits these signs.
