lift:
a)On November 30, 2011 at the convenience store located at 211 Northwest
Highway 7 in Blue Springs, MO, employees were exposed to fall from height
hazards in that they were climbing onto the guardrails of an elevated
scissor lift
to gain access to and from the roof of the structure.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS:
Comply with ANSI/SIA A92.6-1999, Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms
which
states in Chapter 7.10 (9) that "personnel shall maintain a firm footing
on the platform
floor while working thereon.  Climbing by occupants on the midrail or
toprail
of the
aerial platform is prohibited."
Abatement certification is not required for this violation.ion
