North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed fall hazards: a)facility - Hunter 32 sorting area, employees walked on the elevated shaker conveyor to access the Wheel-a-brator work station and were exposed to a 8'5" fall to concrete. b)facility - Hunter 32 sorting area, an employee was observed standing and holding onto the outside of the guardrail of the Wheel-a-brator elevated work station and exposed to a fall of 8'5" to concrete. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to is prohibit employees from walking on conveyors.
