Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 07/06/11 Location:Well #3 Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used corrosive chemicals,including but not limited to, Liquid Chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. (b)Date of Violation:On or About 07/06/11 Location:Well #5 Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used corrosive chemicals, including, but not limited to, Liquid Chlorine, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. (c)Date of Violation:On or About 07/06/11 Location:Testing Lab Condition:The emergency eyewash bottles provided where employees used corrosive chemicals, including, but not limited to, Liquid Chlorine and Sulfuric Acid, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to provide emergency eyewash stations that provide a minimal of 15 minutes of flush time which complies with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment". Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
