Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer does not
furnish employment and a place of employment which are free from
recognized hazards that
are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees
in that employees
were exposed to corrosive acid:
a)University well #31-99 Ozona, TX: The employer allowed employee(s) to be
exposed to a leaking frac tank that contained a corrosive acid. On August
19,
2011 and at times prior thereto, employee(s) were exposed to a corrosive
acid
that was leaking from a manifold of a frac tank.
Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement would be to
contact
the company
that the frac tank was rented from and have it replaced.
