Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to severe burns from the potential dust explosion, deflagration and fire hazards caused by the improper design of dust collection systems: a)Dryer Room - The ducting leading from the direct-fired dryer to the Dustex dust collector was not protected against explosions or deflagrations, on or about May 5, 2011. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with the guidelines outlined in NFPA 61, Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities, section 6.3.1.n
