Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a fall hazard:
a)Storage Room:A&P employee lifted a ATV employee on a Blue Giant Stacker
without
any fall protection, exposing the employee to a fall hazard of
approximately 12 to the
ground below.
Violation observed on or about 1/18/12.
ABATEMENT NOTE:AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND
ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS TO:Instruct
employees never to lift or be lifted without a proper approved platform,
securely attached.
