North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety
and Health Act of North Carolina:  The employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed
to a fall from a moving vehicle:
a)Charlotte Motor Speedway - outside the Goodyear building,
where employees periodically stand on the tailgate of a
moving pickup truck loaded with race tires, riding from
the Goodyear building to the Nationwide Garage.
Among other methods, one feasible method to correct this hazard is
to follow the pickup truck manufacturer's recommendation of not
allowing people to ride in any area of a vehicle that is not
equipped with seats and seat belts.
