Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 01/13/12 Condition:The employer did not instruct an employee on where to place an extension ladder to safely access the rooftop to repair a HVAC unit exposing the employee to a fall of 20 feet 1 inch to concrete. Among other methods, one feasible method to avoid this hazard would have been to instruct the employee on where to place the extension ladder to safely access and egress the rooftop. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
