Bobcat T300 Compact
Track Loader.
On or about Sunday December 4, 2011 at 2350 Randolph Church Road Union
Point, GA 30669;
1). The employee operating a Bobcat T300 Compact Track Loader while
placing wood
debris, limbs and other material into a burn pile was not provided
protection to prevent
material entering through the front of the cab opening. The employee was
fatally injured
and exposed to a struck-by and impalement hazard while clearing the area
in preparation
to expand the trail for the off road motor bike and all-terrain vehicle
(ATV).
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement
include, but not limited,
to: The employer providing a manufactured approved Bobcat (Model T300)
Compact Track
Loader special applications kit to restrict material from entering cab
openings.
In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required
for this violation
(using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in
addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be
included with
your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited
to, evidence of the
purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of
abatement, or other
written records.
