Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a)Garage - on or about November 2, 2011 - no diagonal bracing was installed on the garage roof trusses. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT IS TO FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES SET FORTH IN THE BCSI (BUILDING COMPONENT SAFETY INFORMATION) GUIDELINES; BCSI-B2-TRUSS INSTALLATION & TEMPORARY RESTRAINT/BRACING. THESE GUIDELINES GIVE EXAMPLES OF ADEQUATE BRACING FOR EITHER TOP CORD OR WEB MEMBER BRACING OF THE TRUSSES.
