Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:08/08/2011 Location:Route 1 and Powder Mill Road Equipment:A White Ford L800 Refuse Hauler Condition:Employee was permitted to ride on the back of a refuse truck traveling step, while the truck was moving forward. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to permit employees to ride on the refuse truck only when standing on the traveling steps, while the truck is traveling forward less than 10 miles per hour for a distance not to exceed 0.2 miles. Develop and implement a comprehensive safety training program using the manufacturer's or likely to cause death or serious harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:08/08/2011 Location:Route 1 and Powder Mill Road Equipment:A White Ford L800 Refuse Hauler Condition:Employee was permitted to ride on the back of a refuse truck traveling step, while the truck was moving forward.
