Employees were exposed to severe crushing injuries in the event of
rollovers when operating
a forklift in the warehouse and hammer room without using the equipped
seat belt.
Feasible and acceptable methods for abating this violation include
employer enforcement of a
policy requiring seat belts to be worn by employees at all times when
operating forklifts and
periodic review of operations.
