Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to severe burn injuries from a potential dust explosion
hazard  that could result
from the lack of isolation devices both upstream and downstream of the
dust collector:
(a)Nectar Room Area - The Donaldson Torit dust collector was not equipped
with
isolation devices to prevent the transmission of energy from a fire or
explosion
both upstream and downstream from the collector,  on or about April 17,
2012.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to install isolation devices both upstream and downstream of the dust
collector in accordance
with NFPA 61, Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in
Agricultural
and
Food Processing Facilities, 2008 Edition.
Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The
certification shall
include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of
abatement, and states
employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
