Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): Duties of employers. The employer shall furnish employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her employees: a.At the Alternate Hose warehouse area, employees stacked heavy items and merchandise on steel storage racks approximately 20 feet high. The base plate of the column racks were not anchored down to the ground. Reference: ANSI MH16.1:2008 - Specification for the Design, Testing and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks: Section 1.4.7. Column Base Plates and Anchors. The bottom of all columns shall be furnished with column base plates, as specified in Section 7.2. All rack columns shall be anchored to the floor with anchor bolts capable of resisting the forces by the horizontal and vertical loads of the rack. One feasible means of abatement is to ensure that the base plate of the rack columns be anchored to the ground according to the ANSI MH16.1:2008 Section 1.4.7.n
