Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1):  Every employer did not furnish
employment and a place
of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or
were likely to
cause death or serious physical harm to his employees:
At Sam Woo Bar-B-Q Restaurant, employees were not protected from crushing
of the hands when using the dishwashing machine. The dishwashing machine
sliding door was broken making the sliding door unable to stay up.
Employees
working in the dishwashing station put their hands directly under the
metal sliding
door when inserting dirty dishes into the dishwashing machine. Employees
are
holding the dishwashing machine sliding door up with one hand because the
machine starts working when the sliding door closes, with the other hand
employees load the dishwashing machine. It was noted during the inspection
that
the metal handle of the sliding door has slipped from employee hands almost
crushing the hand that is loading the dishwasher. Employees were exposed
to the
recognized hazard on a daily basis while using the dishwashing machine.
