North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a)on or about 9/2/2011, the following conditions occurred: employee was elevated by underhung hoists and its load to change light bulbs. Among other methods, one feasible means to abate this hazard for employees to use an aerial lift to access light bulbs.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: a)jobsite, hook for hoist near bay door did not have an operable safety or keeper latch. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement is to replace damaged safety or keeper latches on hooks for hoists.
