causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in

exposed to operating the passenger elevator that had not been inspected:
At the job site, 1600 High Street, Baldwin City, Kansas, the employer did
not conduct routine
semi annual inspections of the personnel manlift in the grain elevator.
Employees were exposed
to hazards associated with failure of the manlift.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to have the
elevator inspected by a service company as reference in Rule 1010.6 of
ASME A17.1, Safety
Code for Elevators and Escalators, 1996 edition.
29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the
above violation is
completed.
