Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards from the tipping of the concrete pumper truck. a. Site - The employee who was working with the 42 meter boom concrete pumping truck were exposed to crushing hazards in that all outriggers, which showed signs of failure, were not fully supported. Among other methods, another feasible means of abatement would be to follow the Concrete Pumping Associations certification for pumper operations which calls for the use of the supporting mats when operating the truck in all conditions. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
