Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish to each of his employees a place of employment which were free
from recognized
hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical
harm to his employees in
that employees were exposed to struck-by and crushed-by hazards:
(a)On or about 12/17/11 - at stall #4, a Model 35196 FM  automobile lift,
Serial
Number A0235027, was not properly lowered into the gear rack to ensure that
it was properly secured during the performance of servicing activities.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard would
be to ensure that employees are properly trained and follow the
requirements of
ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000, Standard for Automotive Lifts - Safety Requirements
for
Operation, Inspection and Maintenance.
