Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: a)239 Technology Parkway, Auburn AL - Warehouse; On or about January 4, 2012 and at times prior thereto the employer exposed his employees to struck by hazards in that employees were allowed to walk and work around steel storage racks that had 1) damaged columns and angle braces. 2) Column base plates that were not anchored to the floor. Among others a feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard is to follow the recommendations of ANSI MH16.1:2008 Specification for the Design, Testing and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks.
