Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that there were no procedures or instruction for assuring equipment to be unloaded from a flatbed trailer remained secured in place until rigging was attached to the equipment and was ready to be unloaded: On or about March 6, 2012, at the Pistol Drilling north equipment yard, Benchmark management did not provide procedures or instruction on maintaining load stability after arriving at a customer site prior to unloading, exposing employees to struck by hazards. A feasible method of abatement for this violation includes, but may not be limited to, developing procedures and training employees on procedures for maintaining stability of loads when during loading and unloading operations.
