Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards, while performing warehouse work. On or about 03/27/2012, at 3007 NW 60th St. Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., the employees were exposed to struck by hazards, while performing work in the warehouse. The employer failed to ensure that storage rack structural components were maintained properly in that the racks were not secured, anchored to the floor and damaged components not repaired. Instances: a) 3001 NW 60th ST Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309- Not secured b) 3007 NW 60th ST Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309- Not secured c) 3031 NW 60th ST Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309- Not secured d) 3017 NW 60th ST Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309- Damaged component Among other methods of abatement, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to secure the racks, anchor them to the floor and replace damaged components. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
