North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North Carolina:  The
employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment
and a place of employment free
from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to employees in
that employees were exposed to caught-in/trapped inside hazards:
a)facility, freezer area - where employees entering an International Cold
Storage walk-in freezer
(Model SPIF916) could become entrapped due to the door being padlocked
from the outside.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to install a
manufacturer approved locking mechanism on the door of the freezer which
will allow the employee
entering the freezer to still be able to exit the freezer.
