employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment
and a place of employment free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to a fall from elevation:
a)landfill, truck untarping area - employees were climbing onto the truck
chassis and using a truck
mounted ladder to ascend to a platform 9 feet above the ground while
straddling the ladder and
platform of a side to side tarped trailer and did not have fall protection.
ABATEMENT NOTE:
a)One acceptable method to correct this hazard is to unroll the tarps from
the ground using a hand
crank with a handle which inserts into the tarp pole to begin the side to
side untarping process.g
