Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: Quonset Building - Two employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed between an automobile and the floor while working under the automobile supported by the lifting forks of the Hyundai HL740-3 wheel loader. The employees were removing automobile components for salvage. The practice is common at the establishment. One feasible means, among others, to correct the hazard is to place the automobile on a stable structure designed to safely support it, and then perform the salvage work underneath the vehicle.th
