Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/19/12 Location:Future Boiler Room/Electrical Room Concrete Slab/Deck on the South Side of the New Tertiary Filter Building Condition:Employees were walking/working above over 30 metal vertical conduit pipes that were not guarded. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct this hazard would be to guard or cover the vertical conduit pipes so the chance of impalement is eliminated. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
