Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 09/05/12 Location:Maintenance Building Condition:A subcontractor's employees were exposed to schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride plastic pipe that was utilized for conveying compressed air at pressures of 125 pounds per square inch from the air receiver to various locations throughout the facility. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to abate this hazard is to replace the polyvinyl chloride piping with pipe approved to convey compressed air. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
