North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to thrown from hazards: a)Maintenance shop - where employees were driving the Hahn Multipro 44, model# 41105 tractor sprayer on the Scotch Meadow's golf course and the braking system was inoperable. Abatement Note: One feasible means of abatement would be to install a working braking system on the Hahn Multipro 44 model# 41105 tractor sprayer ensuring that when the brakes are applied the vehicle comes to a complete stop. (Reference: ANSI standard B71.4-2004 entitled commercial turf care equipment - safety specifications. Per section 6.4.2 of the ANSI "A means shall be provided to stop the machines motion in both the forward and reverse directions in accordance with the requirements in 6.4.2.1.")
