North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: a)dip tank area, load test and certificate were not conducted and maintained for the 1/2 ton Budgit hoist. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to test and document a load with no more than 125percent of the rated load unless otherwise recommended by the manufacturer. b)dip tank area, base plates provided to hoist supports, complete periodic inspections were not conducted to identify issues such as missing bolts in the base plates of the supporting frame. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to conduct periodic inspections at intervals defined in paragraph 16-2.1.1(b)(2) of ASME/ANSI B30.16 Standards for Overhead Underhung Hoists.ng
